The Bingo Chips are undeniably the worlds best rock and roll act. Formed New years eve 1990, the band started playing small parties and barns and soon developed a dedicated underground following made up largely of friends and farm animals. more history here
Opening for acts such as the Tea Party, Goober and the Peas and Rumours, the Chips were well on their way to rock stardom by 1992. This is where all went awry. In a catastrophic VW campervan accident, the drummer (Star) lost a limb. Although Star tried to stay on with the band by customizing his drum kit with a makeshift computer and several lard buckets, he never fully bounced back and was soon let go after trying to add lyrical content to the band with songs such as "Fuck My Stump Stinks" and "Gravy Train".
A new drummer was picked up soon after the very physical removal of Star (which landed the entire band in jail for a night) as well as another guitarist, Jonny B Dunford. The exquisite guitar stylings of Jonny, took the band to what the Chips like to refer to as the "Riding the Coat Tails Period".
The band would like to thank everyone involved since their inception and will be touring this summer after a 4 year hiatus. Although no shows have yet been scheduled, we will keep you up to date if we happen to land one.
